E-publications: A quick guide to downloading

There are two steps to obtaining the document you have purchased (Step 1 is only necessary the first time you order one of our documents):

Step 1. Install and register the special "Drumlin" PDF reader
To read and print your copy of your document you will need a special PDF Reader called Drumlin. This PDF Reader is available free of charge and works in the same way as the Acrobat Reader. Download and save the installer .zip file to your hard disk. Unzip its contents on the computer you wish to use to read the PDF and run setup.exe to install the software (approximately 3Mbytes .zip file). After you have successfully installed the Drumlin PDF Reader run it to check its operation and to register your computer with our service. To register you will need an active internet connection. Important: please provide your correct details. You will receive an e-mail automatically with your registration details and customer reference. The "welcome" document in the installation directory and accessible via the Help menu explains how to use the Drumlin reader.

Step 2. Download the document you have ordered (from the relevant Documents page)
The document you download will have a .DRMX extension. It requires an authorization code in order to create a readable file. We will send you an authorization code by email, confirming these instructions. When you receive the code, start the Drumlin reader software and select File menu|Authorize option. Then specify where you want to save the authorized file (which will have a file extension .DRM now), e.g.the folder "My Documents" or "c:\temp". When prompted, enter the code we sent you by email. It is best to Copy this from the email and then Paste it into the box provided. Please note you must have an active Internet connection at this point, as your code is checked centrally. Once authorized you can read the document. If you have any problems with this process please email us .

Your document is your personal copy and you are free to make backups of the document (.DRM file) and the original downloaded .DRMX file as you please. Please note, however, that you can only read the document on the PC and drive on which you saved it. You or other PC users cannot read it on other computers. Note that files with the extension ".DRM" cannot be read by standard PDF readers. For queries and further information on the Drumlin Reader please see the Welcome PDF document and the online information and support pages at the DRUMLIN web site , which includes Help and FAQ pages.
